This airy basement level eatery boasts back lit mirrors, dark wood paneling and candlelight to make it one of the most romantic of Toronto's Italian restaurants. The food is decidedly gourmet and includes such delicate creations as goat cheese on fresh pear and beet slice and calamari with capers. The rigatoni and the veal picatta are also highly recommended. There is homemade raspberry bread pudding for dessert. The wine list is very extensive and includes many excellent Italian, Californian and French vintage choices.
The service is informative and efficient. Dinner costs $90 per person with tip.
