This classic downtown b bistro attracts a lot of celebrity and movie types as well as powerful Bay Street businessmen. It ahs an outstanding wine list that offers the best of the affordable French wines. Highly recommended is of moules marinières ($10.50) which is mussels in white wine and tomato broth. Another specialty is steak tartare accompanied by toast points and a basket of frites. Magret de canard ($27) is served rare (as duck breast should be). The regulars favor the rhubarb flavored Bavarian cream for dessert.
The service is swift and formal. Dinner plus tip averages about $100 per person.
