This elegant restaurant is in the Royal York Hotel across from Union train station. The décor is contemporary with pillars, banquets and 80s looking carpets. A water menu is offered with some 30 varieties, including Galvanina natural mineral water. Recommended entrees are the Newfoundland scallops seared in seaweed with caviar and the macadamia-crusted goat cheese perch) Exquisite desserts include spiced apple tarte tatin and crème brûlée. Wines cover New and Old World bases, with 25 kinds available to sample by the glass.
The service is cheerful and swift. Dinner is about $100 per person with tip.
