Home - Queen Mother Cafe
This 17-year-old cafe was the beginning of hip Queen Street style and it looks like it is here to stay. Cozy wooden booths and candlelight give its dark blue interior a romantic and mysterious ambience. A leaf and herb strewn stone patio beckons in spring and summer. The multi-cultural menu includes Mediterranean, Thai, Laotian, Indian and other Asian far., Although the Queen Mum is known for pad Thai, it offers other spicy delights such as traditional Laos dish, khao soy gai ($11), and curried vegetable roti ($13.95). A short but impressive wine list includes featured wines.
The service is slow but polite. Dinner is about $35 per person including tip.
