This family restaurant in the West Beaches is decorated like an Italian palazzo with long extravagant murals and lots of wrought iron. The dishes range from homey pastas to the downright over the top including roasted pig's head with grilled pig tails. Other specialties include duck confit with risotto and grapes and aged proscuitto and Serano ham in 100-year-old balsamic sauce. Chocolate-espresso semifreddo with sweet amarena cherries is a favorite dessert. The wine list is encyclopedia and includes over 5000 selections. Many of these are offered by the glass.
While some treasures lure international connoisseurs, the team of sommeliers
also gathers dozens of affordable bottles onto more manageable pages.
The service is accommodating and very willing to help with wine selection. Cost per person including tip is $110.
